Program Overview
Learning another language is one of the most valuable skills you will ever possess. As a minor in Spanish, you will increase your knowledge and understanding of Spanish culture and literature. This program will also complement your chosen major with international perspectives.

Minor Requirements (15 Credits)
A minimum of 15 credits in advanced courses selected from Spanish 1030 and above.
It is recommended that the students meet with a department adviser to plan a coherent program of study.
Students might choose a sequence of courses constituting a general survey of:
- Peninsular and/or Latin American literature;
- translation studies;
- Hispanic linguistics; or
- Spanish for business
All courses must be completed with a grade of C or higher.
A minimum of nine credits must be completed at Brooklyn College.
The department chair, with the approval of the department’s curriculum committee, may allow substitutions for one or more of the requirements consistent with the educational goals of the program.
