As our society moves toward acknowledging the diversity of the world in which we live, your women’s and gender studies minor will focus on how definitions of power and value vary across a range of societal and historical contexts. Our interdisciplinary program gives you the flexibility to discover your own focus as you gain the skills to examine and critique cultural, economic, historical, political, and social issues using feminist and queer philosophical paradigms.
As a minor in women’s and gender studies, you will gain the crucial skills that employers value—critical analysis, research, writing, communication, and creative thinking—and that will help you build long-term career success in a continually changing landscape. Your depth of understanding and ability to think creatively will help you succeed as a teacher, lawyer, activist and community organizer, computer scientist, policy maker and public servant, journalist, doctor and public health professional, writer and artist, businessperson, manager, or administrator.

A program of 12 to 14 credits in advanced electives in the Women’s and Gender Studies Program with a grade of C or higher in each course.
Students may take no more than two of the following courses: Women’s and Gender Studies 3349W, 3350, 3352, 3359, 3715.
