Program Overview

A minor in exercise science prepares you to work with people in a variety of areas related to physical fitness, wellness, and human performance. In the minor program, you’ll take core science that relate to anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and psychology.

Where You'll Go

Declaring a minor allows you to explore other areas of interest and make interdisciplinary connections. With a background in exercise science, you can set yourself apart in professions such as an activities director, fitness studio owner, or a health advocate, to name just a few occupations. Regardless of your major, you’ll have a foundation in the mechanics of the human body and the ways we contextualize movement and sport in society.

Minor Requirements (21 Credits)

The minor in exercise science prepares students to work with people in a variety of areas related to physical fitness, wellness, and human performance. Students gain an academic background in exercise science by taking courses related to anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, fitness training, and sports psychology.

Health and Nutrition Sciences 2302, 2303.

Select a minimum of four courses from the following: Health and Nutrition Sciences 3005, 3290, 3295, 4200W, 4260, 4400, 4402, 4500.
