The College Board created this program to allow students to demonstrate college-level achievement through a series of exams in undergraduate college courses. There are 2,900 colleges that grant credit and/or advanced standing for College Level Examination Program (CLEP) exams.
Brooklyn College is an open test center, and we welcome military personnel. All of the internet-based exams are administered in our testing laboratory.
Before taking a CLEP exam, check directly with the college or university you plan to attend to make sure it grants credit for CLEP and review the specifics of its policy.
Candidates should purchase the exam through CLEP. Once you receive confirmation of your exam purchase, reserve a seat to take the CLEP exam with the Testing Center.
Reserve your seat through our secure online registration system. In order to schedule your online reservation, you must have your voucher number.
Exams are generally administered twice per month, twice each day (4 and 6:30 p.m.). To guarantee a seat, candidates must reserve a space at least five business days prior to the exam date.
Upon successful registration, you will receive an e-mail confirmation. Print your confirmation receipt and bring it with you on your test date. Review the directions to Brooklyn College and the campus map.

If you have a disability that would prevent you from taking a CLEP exam under standard conditions, you may request special accommodations and arrangements to take it on either a regularly scheduled test date or at a specially scheduled test date. Any examinee in need of special accommodations must submit official written documentation, which will be reviewed and approved by our Center for Student Disability Services. For further details, contact us at 718.951.5916.
CLEP exams are administered on computer. If you require a paper-and-pencil CLEP exam administration, e-mail CLEP directly.
