As an art student, you can explore cartoon illustration, digital art, drawing, fabric art, interactive media, painting, photography, printmaking, and sculpture, among other media. The department offers a suite of studios and workrooms, including state-of-the-art digital labs; a pristine printmaking studio; photography labs; woodworking, metal, and ceramic facilities; and naturally lit painting studios—all in which you can use to express your creative vision.
With training in studio art, you could go on to be an animator, art director, graphic designer, industrial designer, photographer, or many other professions.

The art history major is writing intensive.
The department chair, with the approval of the chair of the department’s undergraduate curriculum committee, may allow substitutions for one or more of these requirements consistent with the educational goals of the program.
