Students eligible to apply to become a B-NETS Fellow must meeting all of the following criteria:
To start the application process, students should contact one of the PIs (professors Forlano, Hainline, or Stewart for Brooklyn College students, or Dr. Patwary for MEC students) to discuss your career interests and credentials. Students deemed to meet basic program requirements will be asked to complete a short application, including a statement of qualifications as being from an under-represented group (see above), and a statement of purpose that describes the student’s college career to date, any research experience the student has already engaged in, the student’s career goals, and any other information about the potential to apply for and be accepted to a neuroscience doctoral program. Also required are two letters of recommendation from professors whom the student had in a science or mathematics class and/or with whom the students has done prior undergraduate research. All applicants whose credentials are competitive will also be invited to be interviewed by program staff.
Apply here. Applications are due no later than June 30 in order for Fellows to be selected in time to begin the program at the start of the summer.
