Since 2006, GLARE has developed a pedagogical model that draws on performance art to educate on queer issues. Called affective education, this model has been supported by one or more productions annually. GLARE’s list of sponsored productions and interactive workshops includes those listed below.

Written and directed by Stephen Hart This one-man dramatic monologue is a testimony to human resilience in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds. The piece considers multiple themes, including child abuse, domestic violence, homelessness, gay identity, surviving rape, and learning to live with HIV. The overwhelming popularity of the production led GLARE to sponsor Stephen Hart as an artist-in-residence. During the period, Shadowed Dreamer was seen by more than 3,000 people.
