The Department of Chemistry offers doctorate degrees in chemistry and biochemistry.
The Ph.D. programs in chemistry and biochemistry are administered through the CUNY Graduate Center. Our Ph.D. students take classes at the Graduate Center but perform their thesis research with a mentor at Brooklyn College. Each student is offered a full-tuition waiver, health insurance, and a stipend for five years to facilitate his or her thesis research. The department offers students exciting opportunities to pursue cutting-edge research in organic, inorganic, analytical, physical, biological, and theoretical chemistry. This research is conduced with world-renowned faculty in a student-friendly and personal environment with state-of-the-art equipment for measurement, analysis, and computation.
