All visits are free. There is no fee or copay to see a practitioner, though patients who elect to get laboratory evaluations or receive medication may encounter costs (see below).
The Health Clinic provides workshops and conferences on a variety of health topics and works with classes and student groups to provide health education.
The Health Clinic is funded primarily through student activity fees.
Visits to the Health Clinic are available to all Brooklyn College undergraduate and graduate students.
All visits are all free and confidential. On-site diagnostic testing is free. Modest fees may be requested for prescription medications. Laboratory test fees analyzed off-site that are not covered by health insurance are the responsibility of the patient.
While efforts are made to keep the fee schedule current, costs listed below are subject to change without notice.
Well-care, assessment, and treatment of acute and chronic medical conditions, gynecology, family planning, psychiatric evaluation and treatment, social service support and referrals, health education, nutrition consultation
Pregnancy detection, HIV rapid testing, urinalysis, glucose finger stick, strep test, vaginal infection evaluation.
For those age 26 or younger without insurance or in need of confidentiality from policy-holders; once per year.
Walk-in Mondays between 11 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Blood tests, cultures, biopsies, cytology will be billed by Quest Diagnostics to one’s insurance or to the uninsured patient at reduced cost.
Skin tests are planted on Mondays and Tuesdays; patient returns for interpretation 48 to 72 hours later, on a Wednesday or Thursday.
The BC Health Clinic is not a pharmacy. Prescriptions require consultation with a Health Clinic practitioner.
Vaccines not currently in stock may be administered by select local pharmacies or by the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.
