CUNY EDGE
CUNY EDGE (Educate, Develop, Graduate and Empower) is a collaboration between the City University of New York (CUNY) and the New York City Human Resources Administration (HRA.) The goal of the program is to support the needs of students receiving government assistance and pursuing an undergraduate degree at CUNY.
About The Program
CUNY EDGE balances academic advising and personal support with career and employment readiness, leadership development, and community engagement while maintaining students’ compliance with HRA regulations. The program integrates elements of successful college completion programs with work opportunities, personal development, and academic excellence.
We collaborate with existing campus and university offices and programs, including the Center for Academic Advisement and Student Success, Magner Career Center, HRA Fellowship sites, the Learning Center, Office of Financial Aid, Bursar, and others. Transferring between campuses? There are CUNY EDGE offices on every CUNY campus.

Whether you are looking for academic advisement, career planning services, guidance with HRA rules, or something else, we’re here to help. Our office is a welcoming and cozy space where students can relax, study, or take a break between classes. We have two computers with printers, a microwave, a fridge, a coffee maker, filtered water, and snacks available for you. We have an open-door policy, so there’s always someone around to talk to if you need. For longer or more private conversations, we recommend scheduling a follow-up appointment.
