Harvey Paul Davidson was featured in the New York Times article “The Tom Brady of Other Jobs” for his work as a tour guide in New York City.

1972
After a very successful career as an advocate for families of children with disabilities in New York City, Gary Shulman has retired to Virginia and is publishing his poetry. After graduation, Shulman began as a Head Start teacher in Brooklyn before becoming the special needs coordinator for the Brooklyn Children’s Museum.

Brooklyn College Foundation board member and BCCC-CURE advisory board member Joanne Waldstreicher was named to the board of directors at Becton, Dickinson and Company, a global medical technology company.

Rev. Karen Georgia Thompson was elected general minister and president of the United Church of Christ. The election marks the first time a woman and a Black woman has held this role.

Angela Alana Tyson published her debut children’s book, My Red, White, and Blue (Penguin Random House, 2023).

Robert Jones Jr. ’06, ’08 M.F.A. was ranked as one of “25 Most Influential Works of Postwar Queer Literature” by The New York Times for his book The Prophets (G.P. Putnam’s Sons, 2021).

Multimedia artist Ja’Tovia Gary ’12 has an installation, The Giverny Suite (2019), at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.

Nimra Asif’s research on the theory of mind, “Minimal Theory of Mind–a Millikanian Approach,” has been published in Synthese, an international academic journal for philosophy.

Standout guard from the Brooklyn College women’s basketball team Gianna Gotti signed a contract to play professionally in Portugal for Clube Dos Galitos. She is the second Bulldog to sign professionally overseas, with former teammate Chanel Jemmott wrapping up her season in Costa Rica.
