Dear Alumni and Friends,

As Brooklyn College emerges from another challenging year brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, I am pleased to say that the work of our students, faculty, and alumni continues to amaze and inspire. I hope you enjoy reading about some of their research and achievements in this latest Brooklyn College magazine. Titled “The Impact Issue,” the magazine illustrates some of the extraordinary work that our campus community is engaged in to improve our world.

We are proud to announce the opening of the Brooklyn College Cancer Center for Community, Research and Education or BCCC-CURE. In this issue, you’ll find a feature focused on our new center and how it will engage the campus and the local community in its critical mission to help all those affected by cancer. We are proud of the important work it is doing in the borough, as well as its leadership team, headed by Professors Maria Contel, Jennifer Basil, and Brian Gibney in the School of Natural and Behavioral Sciences.

We are planning for a gradual transition to campus this fall, guided by our priority of ensuring the safety of every member of our campus community. We look forward to welcoming the Brooklyn College family back to campus in the coming months. Hopefully, we will see some of you in person this upcoming year as well.

Have a great summer!

Warm regards,

Michelle
