Program Overview

As an American studies minor, you will follow an interdisciplinary approach to studying how American literature relates to American music, art, film, history, and religion. You will learn how these subjects reflect and shape our national attitudes and values. You will also explore race, ethnicity, class, and gender to inform your identity within American society.
