By declaring a minor in Hebrew, you will develop a good working knowledge of the Hebrew language, taught in a context that emphasizes the characteristics of Jewish tradition and Israeli culture and society.
Declaring a minor allows you to explore interests outside of your major and make interdisciplinary connections. With fluency in another language—and the cultural connections that are inextricably linked to it—you will not only travel the world with more confidence, you’ll also become a very desirable candidate for a variety of careers, especially those in international affairs, business, government, or teaching. Minoring in Hebrew will open the doors of employment at companies throughout the world and particularly those based in Israel and where Hebrew is a working language.
The program information listed here reflects the approved curriculum for the 2024–25 academic year per the Brooklyn College Bulletin. Bulletins from past academic years can be found here.
