With a minor in music, you will explore your interest in song-making and performance through a variety of courses such as history, entrepreneurship, music technology, recording and mixing, psychoacoustics, and composition, and as a result become a culturally informed critical thinker with solid communication skills.
Declaring a minor allows you to explore other areas of interest and make interdisciplinary connections. A minor in music allows you to set yourself apart as a candidate for job opportunities in a variety of professions in the media, arts and culture, and education industries or any number of related professions, such as a lyricist or music supervisor.

Twelve credits of advanced electives in music (2101 or higher), selected in consultation with the director or deputy director of the Conservatory of Music.
