By declaring a minor in studio art, you can explore drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, digital art, fabric art, interactive media, and cartoon illustration, among other media. The department offers a suite of studios and workrooms, including state-of-the-art digital labs; a pristine printmaking studio; photography labs; woodworking, metal, and ceramic facilities; and naturally lit painting studios—all in which you can use to express your creative vision.
Declaring a minor allows you to explore other areas of interest and make interdisciplinary connections, and allows you to set yourself apart as a candidate for job opportunities in a variety of professions in arts and culture, media, education, or related professions in which visual literacy, creativity, and a strong foundation in critical thinking are necessary.

Twelve additional credits in studio art courses.
All courses must be completed with a grade of C or higher.
Prerequisite for entry to the minor: Art 1050 or Core Studies 2.1 or Core Curriculum 1120 or Art 1010.
