Associate Professor of Anthropology Katie Rose Hejtmanek from the School of Natural and Behavioral Sciences competed in the 2024 USA Weightlifting Masters National Championships and took first place in her age and weight class, while also setting a new national record in the snatch. She was the 7th-best female lifter across all female competitors, which is based on age (35 to 83), body weight, and weight lifted.
