Two Department of Theater adjunct professors, Ben Stanton and Lucy Mackinnon, who are married and live in Brooklyn, have been nominated for Tony Awards. Stanton, who teaches lighting design to both undergraduate and graduate students, was nominated for “Best Lighting Design of a Play” for his work on A Christmas Carol. Mackinnon, who teaches projection design, was co-nominated for “Best Scenic Design of a Play,” also for A Christmas Carol. Considered the pinnacle award that is given to theater artists in the United States, the Tony Awards will be held on Sunday, June 11. You can find a complete list of nominees here.
