Apply to MARC

Applications are due in the early summer, ideally before June 30, in order for Fellows to be selected in time to begin the program during the summer.

Carefully read the MARC Program eligibility requirements below before starting the application process. Typically, students are admitted to the program at the end of their sophomore year, allowing two full years of program activity before they graduate.

Program Eligibility Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status
  • 60 to 90 credits with at least 20 credits in math and science
  • Minimum overall GPA of 3.20
  • Must be willing to commit participation in the program for at least 2 years after acceptance
  • An interest in biomedical research and graduate education

If you meet the above criteria:

  • Fill out an online application. If you’d like a paper version of the application, reach out to the program coordinator (see contact information below).
  • Submit two letters of recommendation from faculty with whom you have had either a class or a research experience. Faculty should email these recommendations to the Program Coordinator.
  • Submit a copy of your transcript to case@brooklyn.cuny.edu, addressed to the program or to the program director.

Once your application has been reviewed, you will be contacted to arrange an interview with the program directors, Louise Hainline and Mariana Torrente. .

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis until all spots are filled. We currently accept five new juniors or exceptionally strong sophomores each year. We look forward to reading your application!
