Science Undergraduate Research Gateway Experience (SURGE)

The Science Undergraduate Research Gateway Experience (SURGE) program’s purpose is to prepare underrepresented individuals to enter advanced honors programs at Brooklyn College by creating and sustaining strong, well-qualified students interested and motivated to seek careers that depend on having biomedical and behavioral Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. degrees. The program, funded by the National Institutes of Health, supports students who are interested in research and STEM careers. Students who are accepted to the SURGE program will be provided with a solid foundation starting as incoming freshmen in addition to significant financial support.
