Food Pantry

Recognizing the challenge that students may experience getting enough food, Brooklyn College’s Food Pantry opened on November 24, 2015. The Food Pantry offers healthy food and toiletries to enrolled Brooklyn College students so that they can focus on their academic studies. All applications to the Food Pantry are confidential. We are excited to assist you!

Student Eligibility

  • The program is open to currently enrolled Brooklyn College students.
  • A valid Brooklyn College ID is required.
  • Applicants need to complete a brief intake form.
  • Two visits per month are permitted.

How to Access the Pantry

Scheduling an appointment is recommended but not required. Walk-ins are accepted on a limited basis, depending on staff availability. Complete this intake form, then schedule an appointment today. See below for hours of operation for both appointments and walk-ins.

Hours of Operation

Both scheduled appointments and walk-ins are accepted during the following hours:

  • Tuesdays, 11:30 a.m.–4 p.m.
  • Wednesdays, 11:30 a.m.–6:30 p.m.
  • Thursdays, 11:30 a.m.–3 p.m.

What to Expect

After scheduling an appointment or walking into the Food Pantry (during hours of operation), students will be e-mailed instructions on how to submit an order for the items they’d like. Pantry staff will pack orders for students to pick up. Students are encouraged to bring their own bag or reuse the bag provided upon their initial visit to the Food Pantry.

How to Make Referrals to the Food Pantry

Staff and faculty are encouraged to refer students who express a need that could be addressed by using the Brooklyn College Food Pantry. Contact the Food Pantry via e-mail.

How to Donate

Donations of nonperishable food items and unopened toiletries will be accepted during hours of operation after confirmation from the Food Pantry staff. Send an e-mail for details. Thank you for your interest in donating!
