We know from our colleagues in Kinesiology and Theater (if not elsewhere!) that the body is often an untapped source for learning in university classrooms. Too often, our students sit in their chairs and barely use their bodies beyond writing and raising their hands; too often, we scholars barely use our bodies in our scholarly research. What happens when we engage our bodies and incorporate embodied, experiential learning into our classrooms where it doesn’t usually appear?
Join History Professor Lauren Mancia (ironically, on Zoom), where she will explain why experiential and embodied learning is important and how she and others have incorporated it into their classroom teaching.
