Born in Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Monteiro is recognized by critics as one of the greatest representatives of the Brazilian piano scene. He won 1st prize at the Third International Piano Competition in Cologne, Germany (1989) and was a laureate at the Dublin (1991) and Santander (1992) Competitions. He received the Carlos Gomes Music Prize in Brazil in 2004 and 2005.
The great South American pianist will present a recital of works by Villa-Lobos, Debussy, Mignone, and Wagner/Liszt.
