How to Apply to Honors Programs

We encourage students to apply to more than one honors program. Each program admits independently, and it is possible to receive multiple offers. Students applying to the Scholars Program should also apply to the Macaulay Honors College, and any student interested in medicine should apply to both Scholars and Macaulay as well as the Coordinated B.A.-M.D. Program. The B.A.-M.D. Program is compatible with both Scholars and Macaulay—students can be part of B.A.-M.D. and Scholars, or B.A.-M.D. and Macaulay.

Deadline for Macaulay Honors College: November 15, 2024
Deadline for B.A.-M.D. and Scholars Programs: December 16, 2024

Scholars Program

  1. Complete the CUNY application. You must fill out this application in order to obtain an EMPLID. You must have an EMPLID to apply for the Honors Academy programs.
  2. Complete the Scholars Program application.

Coordinated B.A.-M.D. Program

  1. Complete the CUNY application. You must fill out this application in order to obtain an EMPLID. You must have an EMPLID to apply for the Honors Academy programs.
  2. Complete the B.A.-M.D. application.

Macaulay Honors College Program

  1. Complete the Macaulay application.

Scholars Program and Macaulay Honors College

To be considered for Scholars and Macaulay, students must list Brooklyn College as first choice.

  1. Complete the Macaulay application. You must fill out this application in order to obtain an EMPLID. You must have an EMPLID to apply for the Honors Academy programs.
  2. Complete the Scholars application. On page 2 of the application, click on bottom option that says, “I have applied to Macaulay Honors College and wish to be considered for Scholars…” That is all you have to do. Scholars will access your Macaulay application; you need do nothing further.

Coordinated B.A.-M.D. Program and Macaulay Honors College

  1. Complete the Macaulay application. You must fill out this application in order to obtain an EMPLID. You must have an EMPLID to apply for the Honors Academy programs.
  2. Complete the B.A.-M.D. application and on second page click on B.A.-M.D. Do not click on the bottom option that says, “I have applied to Macaulay Honors College and wish to be considered for Scholars…” You must complete the B.A.-M.D. application to be considered for the program.
