The M.D. Sass Investment Institute CFA Scholarship is designed specifically to help more Brooklyn College students succeed in careers in the finance industry by providing financial assistance to motivated students to prepare and take the Level I Exam for Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).
Graduates from the finance major offered by the Koppelman School of Business have the essential knowledge that is necessary for this exam. However, historical evidence suggests that comprehensive and expert-guided exam preparations can significantly boost the confidence of the candidates and improve the overall passing rate.
To better prepare students for the CFA Level I Exam, relieve the financial burden on students, and increase their confidence and passing rates, the M.D. Sass Investment Institute CFA Scholarship will cover for qualified candidates:
To be eligible for the M.D. Sass Investment Institute CFA Scholarship, a candidate must meet all of the following criteria at the time of application:
The M.D. Sass Investment Institute CFA Scholarship will be awarded to five qualified applicants in each fall and spring semester, for a total of 10 scholarships annually.
The deadline for application is May 1 (spring) and December 1 (fall). The applicant must submit the following documents in the application package:

The M.D. Sass Investment Institute staff and advisers will review, evaluate, and award the scholarships to the most qualified candidates based on their best professional judgment of the applicants’ likelihood for success in the CFA exams. The winners will be announced within two weeks of the deadline each semester.
The funding required for this scholarship is estimated at approximately $16,990 (10 x ($999 + $450 + $250)) annually. With an additional $3,000 budgeted for a paid student assistant to manage the applications and paperwork if needed, the total funding requirement is $19,990 annually.
The M.D. Sass Investment Institute and the Brooklyn College Foundation are the managing partners of this scholarship program, with the support of the Koppelman School of Business.
