Bert Gordon announced the publication of his new book, War Tourism: Second World War France from Defeat and Occupation to the Creation of Heritage (Cornell University Press). The book provides a unique and thorough examination of tourism during occupied France.

Bradley Strahan is the editor of the critically acclaimed world journal of poetry Visions International. It is celebrating its 40th anniversary with the publication of its 100th issue. Alan Nadel holds the William T. Bryan Chair in American Literature and Culture at the University of Kentucky. Since 2007, he has also been on the faculty of The Futures of American Studies Institute, at Dartmouth College. Holly Warren Goldstein is an active and enthusiastic member of the Ithaca Rotary Club, and she won the 2019 Laura Holmberg Award for her numerous unsung works of community support, especially for her role in pioneering the Ithaca Rotary Harvest, an initiative that benefits local farmers markets.

Eric Russell stepped down as chairman of the Department of Radiology at Northwestern University and Northwestern Medicine in Chicago. He had held the position for 18 years. He continues to work full time doing clinical neuroradiology, research, and teaching as a professor of radiology, neurology, and neurosurgery.

Sheila A. Gaddis, a partner at Barclay Damion and chairwoman of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee has been named to the 2019 Lawyers of Color’s Nation’s Best list. The honor is bestowed on exceptional law firm partners and senior-level corporate counsel of color who have achieved prominence and distinction in their fields and demonstrated a strong commitment to advancing diversity in the legal profession.

Rubin Guttman has completed her term as co-chair of the Community Relations Committee and chair of the Israel Advocacy Committee, both a part of the Jewish Community Federation of Cleveland, where she has held numerous leadership roles.

Michael Iannicelli has many published papers in various peer-reviewed scientific journals, including “Explaining the crude and simple mechanics of parasitic feeding by conodonts” (Journal of Oceanography and Marine Research, 2018) and “Hominins’ Hurried Departure from Africa during the Out of Africa Event-1 due to Widespread Wildfires, Accidently and Inevitably Ignited by them, C.A. 1.8–1.6 Mya” (Annals of Archaeology, 2018).

A selection of photographs by Perla De Leon was placed in the permanent collection of the Smithsonian American Art Museum. Her photography is also featured in the documentary film Decade of Fire.
