Let’s congratulate our new Fulbrighter! Associate Professor Rebecca Boger of the Earth and Environmental Sciences department and Director of Urban Sustainability has been awarded a Fulbright award for the 2022-2023 academic year. The prestige of the Fulbright cannot be overstated. The Fulbright Program is the world’s largest and most diverse international educational exchange program and is devoted to increasing mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the people of other countries. Fulbright alumni have become heads of state, judges, ambassadors, scientists, teachers and Nobel Laureates. The overall goal of Prof. Boger’s project is to create digital geospatial tools for the digital public goods initiative to create a more equitable world. She will spend her time in Kenya and work with the United States International University Africa and the Kenya Agency to develop flexible education modules, create a Kenya-tailored citizen science app, and collect environmental data. Let us once again congratulate Rebecca and wish her a wonderful and productive Fulbright experience. Congratulations!
