Do I need to send an official copy of my transcripts?

Yes. Official transcripts must be mailed in sealed envelopes from all current and previously attended colleges and universities by the application deadline.

Where should I mail supporting documentation?

Mail transcripts and letters of recommendation to:

Should I still apply if I’m not a member of a traditionally underrepresented group in the STEM disciplines?

Yes, all applicants are considered.

Is there an interview process?

Yes, selected students will be invited to Brooklyn College for at least one interview.

Am I guaranteed to work with my first-choice mentor if I am accepted?

No. We make all efforts to match students and mentors based on research interests and skills, but a faculty member may not be available during a particular term. If this occurs, the REU student may be paired with a mentor listed as their second or third choice.

Do I have to be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident?

Yes. It’s a requirement of the grant.
