Brooklyn College has developed comprehensive emergency plans, guides, and procedures. Of course, these preparedness plans will be greatly enhanced by a knowledgeable community. We highly recommend that all members of the college community familiarize themselves with our plans, guides, and brochures so that everyone will be prepared should an emergency arise.

Text alerts are currently available to Brooklyn College students only. To register to receive text alerts, visit the Brooklyn College portal and select “My Email and Text Message Subscriptions” under the “My Info” tab.
CUNY A!ert is available to all members of the college community who have registered with the system. To sign up, visit CUNY A!ert.
In addition to the above emergency notification systems, the college has an on-campus public address notification system that offers real-time voice announcement capabilities with clear information and instructions in case of emergency, even in areas of the campus where cell phone and network service may not be available. Most buildings are already online; the remaining campus buildings, as well as exterior campus locations, are currently being integrated into the PA system.
Severe weather conditions, power outages, and other emergencies may necessitate the cancellation of classes and campus events. To find out the status of the campus, check the college website or the portal. You may also call 718.951.5444 or 5445, or listen to the following radio stations:
