Partners in Preparedness Program

Dear Colleagues,

Whether or not we want to admit it, our great city is vulnerable to all types of disasters, natural and manmade. Disasters impact the New York City business community in profound ways, including revenue loss, layoffs, and even bankruptcy. To support our commitment to disaster preparedness, Brooklyn College has recently joined the New York City Office of Emergency Management (OEM) Partners in Preparedness (PIP) Program, which helps organizations prepare their employees, services, and facilities for disasters.

By joining PIP, the college will have access to a wealth of preparedness resources, ranging from webinars and events to real-time emergency alerts through OEM. The PIP website contains more information.

As part of this process, we would like to encourage all of our employees to sign up for Notify NYC, the city’s free, real-time emergency notification system. In just three easy steps, you’ll be registered to receive up-to-the minute emergency updates from OEM—updates that ensure you and your family are better prepared for emergencies.

Our employees are our most valued resource. You and your work make Brooklyn College what it is today. Help us become a Partner in Preparedness by registering with Notify NYC.

If you have any questions, contact us or visit the Notify NYC Frequently Asked Questions webpage.

Sincerely,

Donald A. Wenz
