The Magner Career Center offers workshops and events throughout the year to help students improve their career skills and as well as kickstart their unique professional journeys. Students unsure of how to network at job fairs, create a stellar résumé, or secure an internship are given all the tools they need to succeed.
Current students can view and register for upcoming workshops on BC Knowledge. Each semester, we invite professionals from a wide variety of specialties to speak with our students about career advancement.
Previous guests have included professionals and alumni from organizations such as Con Edison, DKNY, Estee Lauder, Facebook, the Ford Foundation, the Foreign Service, Google, JP Morgan, KPMG, New York City Department of Education, the New York Knicks, New York State Department of Labor, The New York Times, and many more!
Job Fair Preparation Students learn about the different types of career fairs as well as how to prepare for and participate in them.
Job Search 101: Résumé, Job Search, and Interview Skills Students are directed and navigated throughout the entire job search process, from résumé to interview, start to finish.
Paid Internships Panel Students learn about the importance of internship stipends as well as how exactly to apply for them.
From College to Career: Tips from Recent Graduates Students pursuing a bachelor’s degree in psychology are given special advice from a recent graduate in their career path.
Recruiter’s Inside Tips on Résumés and Interviews Students are given a direct account of what to do and what not to do from employers throughout all prospects of their job search.
Student/Alumni Networking Night The Magner Career Center’s annual Networking Night is a night for current students to network with a variety of alumni based on their career field.
